Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy has it’s origins in osteopathy. John Upledger  D.O. founded this therapy as an offshoot of osteopathy in the 1970’s.; and earlier in the 1930’s by William Garner Sutherland.

It is a very gentle therapy where the practitioner places their hands lightly on the skull, Sacrum and various parts of the body. The treatment takes the form of gentle pressures placed on the skull, spine and sacrum to elicit a normal rhythm of movement.

This type of therapy assists in normalizing head shape in infants ensuring optimal development of the cranial system and formation.

Craniosacral therapy is also very calming and has been shown to assist with anxiety and stress.

It’s gentle approach makes it an ideal treatment for any age, from newborn babies to our valued elderly.
